Easy Digital s Content Restriction v2.3.5

Easy Digital Downloads Content Restriction locks WordPress pages, posts, and custom content behind an Easy Digital Downloads purchase. It solves the gap where files are protected but valuable surrounding content stays public. Instead of building a full membership system or juggling user roles manually, you link visibility directly to EDD purchase records so only verified buyers see bonus material, with access granted automatically after checkout.

You can build paid tutorials, video course libraries, template vaults, member documentation hubs, and bonus chapters for ebooks with this plugin. It works inside Gutenberg, the classic editor, and most page builders, plus custom post types for lessons, podcasts, portfolios, or docs. Keep intros public for SEO while hiding download links, embed codes, or step by step lessons until purchase, and use custom messages with buy buttons to guide visitors to checkout.

Easy Digital Downloads Content Restriction Key Features

• Restriction by Specific Product: Lock content so only buyers of a chosen EDD product or bundle can view it.
• Multiple Product Requirement: Require ownership of several products or any product for all access bonus areas.
• Partial Content Protection: Wrap single sections with a shortcode while keeping intro and sales copy public.
• Editor and Builder Support: Add restrictions inside Gutenberg, the classic editor, and most page builders.
• Custom Restricted Messages: Show tailored notices with buy buttons and checkout links for non buyers.
• Purchase Record Verification: Checks real EDD payment status including completed, refunded, or revoked orders.
• Role Based Override: Give admins or shop managers constant access for testing and support.
• Custom Post Type Support: Apply rules to lessons, documentation, portfolios, podcasts, and LMS style content.
• Lightweight Theme Independent Logic: Runs on page load with no extra front end weight and inherits theme styling.

Download Latest GPL Version of Easy Digital Downloads Content Restriction

Use the GPL files to test restriction rules in a staging site before touching live sales content. Create test EDD products, make sandbox purchases, and confirm shortcode wrapped lessons, videos, and download links hide correctly for guests while showing for buyers. Check custom messages, caching behavior, and revoked or refunded access. Local testing prevents locking out real customers, and an official license is best for live stores needing updates and support.
