Directorist Rank Featured Listings v1.3.3

Directorist Rank Featured Listings is an add-on for Directorist that adds priority control to featured listings. By default Directorist only highlights featured items without setting order, which makes it hard to reward paying advertisers. This extension adds a ranking layer so higher tier listings appear first in search results, category pages and archive pages. It replaces manual reordering or custom code with a clear admin setting tied to value.

You can use it to run local business directories, classifieds sites, restaurant guides or listing portals where placement is sold as a service. It connects with Directorist monetization and subscription plans plus advanced custom fields, so a Gold or Platinum package can grant top placement automatically. Day to day, you can fulfill promises to premium advertisers, curate top spots per category or location, and keep filtered searches showing the highest ranked featured results first.

Directorist Rank Featured Listings Key Features

• Manual Ranking Control: Assign a simple rank number in admin so a listing ranked 1 stays above a listing ranked 5 on archives and search.
• Featured Priority Ordering: Push high value featured listings to the top of search results, category pages and archive pages.
• Pricing Plan Mapping: Set a default rank for each paid package so Gold or Platinum buyers get better placement automatically.
• Monetization Connection: Links payment for featured plans and membership packages directly to visible listing position.
• Category Aware Ranking: Keeps ordering relevant by applying rank inside the browsed category instead of mixing unrelated listings.
• Location Aware Ranking: Respects location structure so top results stay useful for visitors filtering by area.
• Custom Field Compatibility: Preserves price, amenities, business type and other advanced fields while ranked results stay on top.
• Filter Friendly Order: Maintains correct priority even when visitors filter listings by custom fields or taxonomy terms.
• Search Sorting Support: Works with normal visitor sorting while weighting higher ranked featured listings before regular listings.

Use the GPL package to test ranking logic on a staging copy before touching a live directory. Create test pricing packages, assign different default ranks, submit demo listings and check search, category and location archives for correct order. Sandbox testing prevents paid placement errors and downtime for real advertisers. For live client directories with active payments, purchasing an official license is best for automatic updates and support.
