BuddyPress Profile Visibility Manager v2.0.2

BuddyPress Profile Visibility Manager gives individual members control over who can view their BuddyPress profile. By default, BuddyPress keeps member profiles open to visitors browsing the members directory, which creates privacy concerns. This plugin adds a simple privacy panel inside the profile area where each user sets their own visibility level. It removes the need for custom code, global restrictions, or manual admin work.

This plugin is ideal for niche communities, private support groups, dating sites, company intranets, and course based BuddyPress networks. Members can participate in groups and private messages while staying hidden from the public members directory and internal searches. Users who want limited exposure can restrict views to friends or group members only, while admins keep full moderation access for smooth daily community management. It also helps reduce privacy complaints by letting members hide last active timestamps and manage their own settings without contacting support.

BuddyPress Profile Visibility Manager Key Features

• Five Visibility Levels: Let members choose from Everyone, Logged In Users Only, Friends Only, My Group Members, or Only Me.
• Individual User Control: Each member manages privacy from their own BuddyPress profile settings panel.
• Members Directory Hiding: Private profiles stay out of the main directory for unauthorized visitors.
• Search Result Exclusion: Hidden profiles do not appear in BuddyPress member search results.
• Last Active Hiding: Members can hide their last active timestamp for added personal privacy.
• Friends Only Mode: Restrict full profile access to confirmed friends connections only.
• Group Members Mode: Make profiles visible only to users who share the same BuddyPress group.

Test BuddyPress Profile Visibility Manager in a safe staging copy before changing privacy on a live community. Check each visibility level, confirm directory hiding and member search behavior, verify friends and shared group access, and review last active display. Sandbox testing on LocalWP or XAMPP avoids locking real members out or causing support issues, while an official license is best for production updates and support.
